Overview
North Africa, World War II. A ragtag squad of British mercenaries, dressed in Italian uniforms and led by a by-the-book officer who has no business being there, cuts deep into Nazi-held territory with one objective: blow up a fuel depot that keeps Rommel's army running. Michael Caine stars in this cynical, sand-blasted war film that has little interest in heroism and considerable interest in what men actually do when survival is the only rule.
