Overview
Ken Annakin's ambitious recreation of D-Day refuses to settle on a single perspective. Instead, the film cuts between German bunkers, Allied command posts, and the beaches themselves, tracking how June 6, 1944, unfolded differently depending on where you stood. Soldiers and officers from five nations experience the same invasion as a series of local battles, each convinced their corner of Normandy determined everything. The result is a three-hour immersion in wartime chaos and uncertainty.
