Overview
Tulsa, 1960s. The greasers wear their poverty like a bruise, always visible, always tender. When a confrontation between working-class Ponyboy and his friend Johnny and a group of wealthy Socs turns fatal, the two boys go on the run, carrying guilt and loyalty in equal measure. Francis Ford Coppola's adaptation of S.E. Hinton's novel finds its power in the quiet moments between the violence, asking what it costs a young man to grow up fast on the wrong side of the tracks.
