Overview
The American frontier of the 1820s is unforgiving terrain, and Hugh Glass learns that the hard way when a grizzly bear leaves him broken and barely breathing. Abandoned by the men he trusted, including one who commits an act of betrayal he cannot let stand, Glass drags himself across hundreds of miles of frozen wilderness. Alejandro González Iñárritu turns survival into something almost spiritual, a portrait of grief and rage filmed in punishing natural light with Emmanuel Lubezki's camera.
