Overview
Jim Braddock was supposed to be finished. Washed up, broken-handed, and scraping through the Depression on dock work and welfare, the former light heavyweight contender had every reason to stay down. But when his family's survival depends on it, Braddock laces up again, shocking the boxing world with a streak of victories that culminates in one of sport's great upsets. Ron Howard directs this portrait of a man whose stubbornness turns out to be his greatest gift.
