Overview
Two Chicago street kids trade poverty for quick money and quicker violence, building a bootlegging empire during Prohibition. Tom Powers and his partner ride the wave of underworld success, commanding respect through ruthlessness. Yet ambition comes with a price: constant warfare with rivals, police pressure, and the slow erosion of family ties. Tom's attempts to maintain his humanity crumble under the weight of his own brutality, leaving him trapped between the streets that made him and the connections he's destroying.
