Overview
New York, 1933. A desperate filmmaker drags his crew and his reluctant leading lady aboard a tramp steamer bound for a place that does not appear on any map. What they find on Skull Island is ancient, enormous, and unlike anything science has named. Peter Jackson's three-hour spectacle is equal parts Depression-era adventure story and surprisingly tender monster movie, anchored by the strange, wordless bond that forms between a frightened actress and a creature the size of a building.
