Overview
Bella Swan arrives in the rain-soaked logging town of Forks, Washington, expecting nothing but a quiet life with her father. What she finds instead is Edward Cullen, pale, guarded, and carrying more than a century of secrets. Their pull toward each other is immediate and inconvenient, especially given that Edward is a vampire who has spent decades learning restraint. Bella, characteristically, refuses to care. Her stubbornness becomes the story's engine, and its central danger.
